Evangel developed the School of Practical Ministry (SOPM) in 2007 to provide Biblical instruction for people who didn’t want to pursue a seminary degree. The program includes 7 Learning Modules along with 3 Learning projects that give the program a dimension of practical application not found in many Biblical studies programs.
In 2009, Evangel was asked to teach this program overseas for the first time. This successful training in Kenya, paved the way for other requests from Sierra Leone and Cameroon. In each nation, we partnered with established ministries to help train the next generation of pastors and church leaders. In addition, Evangel has had the opportunity to teach the SOPM program in the nations of Madagascar and Guinea as well.
Because sound Biblical training is either non-existent or too expensive for most pastors in developing nations, God is using the SOPM to help meet a very real need. Evangel is delighted and humbled to be an instrument to bring this much needed assistance. To date, we have had the privilege of training over 1,300 men and women in these developing nations. This next generation of pastors and church leaders are making a significant impact in their communities and nations as they plant churches, lead people to Christ and provide practical assistance to thousands who are broken and needy.
All of this is done at no charge to the students, but there is a cost for providing this program. Therefore, all of the funding for this endeavor is raised here in the U.S. If you would like to partner with Evangel in this great work, we invite you to click on the donate button below to make a secure on-line donation to Evangel’s international School of Practical Ministry.
